At the provincial level, ASBA collaborated with education partners, fraternal organizations and other key stakeholders through reciprocal event participation and dialogue. These engagements supported shared understanding of emerging issues, sector priorities and diverse perspectives influencing the education landscape.
By exchanging insights and identifying areas of alignment, ASBA reinforced professional relationships and a collective commitment to effective leadership and student success.
ASBA strengthened its national advocacy through active participation with the Canadian School Boards Association (CSBA). Working alongside interprovincial counterparts, the Association advanced shared priorities and contributed to discussions on emerging education trends at the federal level.
As part of CSBA’s 2024 Advocacy Event in Ottawa, ASBA met with Members of Parliament (MP) and Senators including:
Discussions included carbon tax, the National School Food Program, Indigenous education, Jordan’s Principle, Vaping, Transportation Canada requirements, copyright legislation and locally elected voices in education.
ASBA also participated in the 2025 CSBA National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education and CSBA Congress, hosted by the Manitoba School Boards’ Association, providing opportunities for member board trustees to engage with colleagues from across Canada.
ASBA additionally participated in the 2025 National School Boards Association Annual Conference, alongside member school board trustees, as well as the 2025 Executive Directors’ Summer Institute hosted by the Michigan Association of School Boards.
These events provided a valuable opportunity for ASBA to engage with thought leaders from across North America, learn from innovative practices in education and strengthen relationships that will benefit the Association.
